Battle Creek Unlimited (BCU), a private, nonprofit corporation, has received international acclaim serving as the business development arm for the cities of Battle Creek and Marshall. BCU is an enduring alliance of public, private and community leaders, guiding the nation’s first and most successful base conversion into Michigan’s largest modern industrial park - the 3,000-acre Fort Custer Industrial Park. Battle Creek Unlimited also markets the Central Business District. It has been said that the signature of a community is the condition of its central business district. Downtown Battle Creek now emerges as the major service corridor of the community. Entertainment, specialty shops, corporate headquarters, professional and financial services, and government offices reside in the central business district.
